Food That Makes You Weak in the Knees

Steve and I have taken a small break from wedding planning...small break, mind you (with the emphasis on small) ;) and are down in Sacramento for Thanksgiving visiting his family. (My future in-laws! Love you guys!) =)

Had a great Thanksgiving and actually jumped back on the wedding bandwagon by checking out wedding bands a few hours ago.  Now we're running a few errands and made a stop at ABC Bakery. A place that instantly earned a warm spot in my heart when we were down here last March.

Why? Oh, I'll tell you why...

They have these little buns that are the most AMAZING little buns I have ever eaten!  Becky, welcome to the delightfully yummy world of the Char Siu Bao.  And Becky exhales her response of "mmm...Yummmmmmmm" while her eyes subsequently roll back in her head.

The yummy goodness of these little buns had my devoted love from the very first bite. Filled with most flavorful bbq pork and hot steamy air rising out of the sweet breaded encasing, these things have made my mouth water for 8 months.  And I finally got to partake again.

Steve: "Welcome to Asian culture."

Me: "Thank you for letting me in."

And I will be back. ;)

Still searching

So we are still researching venues.... It's really hard to judge what an outdoor venue will look like in June, when all you see is dead leaves and barren trees. Good thing we have our imagination and some strangers photos to help us along.

Colors. Dun...Dun...Duuunnnn.....

The decison making has begun. The fiancée and I figured we should start thinking of a color scheme. So we put ourselves in the truck and made our way to Lowe's. Now a national hardware chain isn't your typical place to start planning a wedding, but I had a goal in mind. Look at paint chips!  Steve calls them swatches...so I've combined them to create our new term - Paint Swips.  See?  I can compromise. ;)  So off we went to peruse the paint swips.

Upon arrival, there were paint swips galore. We had agreement, we had disagreement and lively debates. So what did we decide on? Well, we decided to leave the store with many paint swips and will make the decision later. ;)

But we're on our way. =)

The next step

So guess what? We decided to take the plunge and couldn’t be happier. After just a year or so of dating we've decided to make it official, no I don’t mean posting it on face book, we are getting married! Yay! We were engaged on October 29th at a foggy and dreary Crater Lake at roughly 2pm, I wasn't really paying attention to the clock.
The date of our union will be June 23, 2012, and strangely it feels right around the corner and far away at the same time. There is so much to do all the sudden and little time to do it between work and just trying to enjoy being engaged! We will try to keep this updated throughout the planning process to chronicle our new adventure.
